Beautiful long ears, mighty body, short legs with wide paws and mostly a big heart.

That's bassethound, shortly basset. It's a dog which everyone notices. He has a typical facial expression of an english lord, a wrinkled face and sad eyes of an old man. But his tail gives him away - intensively swinging from one site to another - that means he's happy.

He is an ideal family dog. He likes small children, other pets and he gets on well with other dogs. He has a beautiful deep voice and can smell everything, even a ham in a closed fridge. For his good character he acts in many films and commercials, he is a favourite breed of many famous people.
